  2. Thank you so much! Very nice of you to comment. Your stuff is cool too. Is that "photo" of you on your blog by you? It's amazingly cool.

  3. hehe, well it's not "me" but yes, I drew it. :) Thanks! I haven't put any real artwork up on my blog, on the account that I haven't done any real art in so many years. you're inspiring PA!

  4. ...some of the art I've put up on my blogsite origionates back to a couple of decades ago. If your other stuff (that you "haven't done...in so many years") is like the drawing that's "not" you, I'd post it -- for fun, or fifteen minutes of cyber-glamour.

Also, good luck in teaching-land (a reckless abode that your comic implies you've dwelled in). Been there, done that. Much more tolerble teaching English in Japan.
    Cheers, C.G.

  5. ha! I don't know so much about the cyber glamour. heh.

Yes, I'm a teacher. I love it most days, but yes - there are those horrible days that you just wish you were something/someone else. I've heard the opposite about teaching english in Japan. Why do you like it so much? (what kind of teacher were you in your former life?)

  6. In my former life I was a teacher of secondary school social studies. The kids, for the most part, were grand. I just couldn't stand the pathetic, bland, and sterile world of Ed-land bureaucracy. The meaningless hoops one must jump through to even get a job with such clowns is hardly worth the "reward" of having to tow a party line on teaching philosophy -- and life -- that runs contrary to my own passions.

I'm not teaching in the public schools in Japan so a fair comparison can't be made, but teaching in an English conversation school here is easy, fun, and even pays well. It's not for everyone, but it's made me happy. The J-folk are awesome. I've been here for six years now so this is home.

Highly recommended for anyone repelled by public social engineering and dusty bureau-thought.

    -- Dream funny things,

    C.G.
